The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor led course is designed for personnel who staff ICU, ER, CCU units, and EMS personnel. The "traditional" 2 day American Heart Association instructor led Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course is where you and other course participants engage in learning the required information needed to obtain your ACLS course completion card. The Required AHA ACLS provider manual is SOLD SEPARATELY.
The ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology.
Skills are taught in large-group sessions and small-group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

ACLS training is intended for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of the hospital, including:

•other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency
Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for an ACLS Course Completion Card.
To be successful in any ACLS course, students should be able to identify ECG rhythms and should know pharmacology specific to cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies before beginning the course. It is strongly recommended that students review the ACLS course materials and complete a precourse self-assessment using the tools in their student materials before starting the course.
Course length is approximately 10-12 hours for the initial course, and approximately 5-6.5 hours for the renewal course. Part 1 (cognitive portion) can be taken in an instructor-led training session or on a self-directed basis as an online eLearning course. Students then practice their skills (Part 2) and are tested (Part 3) with a certified American Heart Association ACLS instructor.

Part 1 of the BLS ONLINE COURSE IS SOLD SEPARATELY. The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) renewal course & Basic Life Support (BLS) Online combo course is designed for personnel who are seeking renew their American Heart Association's ACLS & BLS providers card. Students must bring with them to the class, their current or expired ACLS card of no more than 30 days. Students MUST complete the BLS online course prior to attending this course. The BLS hands on Practice & testing session (Parts 2 & 3 of the online course) will be completed after the ACLS renewal course on the same day.

In Parts 2 and 3, you will demonstrate proficiency in providing ACLS skills including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating AED use. Successful completion of any of the American Heart Association's online courses requires three course parts :

- In the hybrid course, students take 8 hours of the course online followed by 8 hours in the classroom. Once you complete the online portion, you will need to print the certificate and post-test grade and bring both with you to class.

- PHTLS 10th Edition Course - $250
- This is a 16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion, a wallet card recognizing them as PHTLS providers for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit.
- AMLS 4th Edition Course - $250
- This is a 16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and physicians. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion, a wallet card recognizing them as AMLS providers for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit.
